Website Conversion Hack 72: Converting Buyers Not Ready to Buy Today

If you are lucky, maybe 4% of your site visitors will buy. 96% won’t.

But a subset of that 96% were people who came close to buying. They just weren’t ready to buy today.

You can hope they signed up for your newsletter so you can stay in touch, but newsletters typically get only a 6% signup rate. That means a huge percentage of interested visitors still slip away—people who were curious but not ready to buy and not motivated enough to join your general mailing list.

What they’re really interested in is the product they are looking at right now. This is where my pop-up concept comes in.

When someone is leaving the product page, a pop-up like this appears (I use ChatGPT to design this for me):

Once the prospect joins, they receive an email every time a new review for this item comes in.

Each review email is a micro nudge. Once they make the purchase, they are removed from this mailing list.
