Option 1 is correct. I also think seeing a coupon code called CINCODOMAYO leading up to Cinco de Mayo makes the user feel like the 20% discount is special. When I see SAVE20MORE I think they’re running the same promo all the time. Dollar wise the 2 discounts are the same, but emotionally they are completely different.
